Twitter DM TEAM+ #ThatTechGirl at Twitter HQ

Everyone knows I am a Twitter Stand! No for real. Many people pledge to their nations flag, I actually just salute the bird!

My love for Twitter started back in 2007. Yes I was a super early adopter! I still remember that one friend who gave me my first Twitter fix! I was hooked! I signed up in 2008 and my life changed FOREVER.

Everytime I give a tech talk be it at an event, college or at the BART. I represent Twitter…. HARD!
To give you an idea of my undying love for the brand, I actually held a pop up party for the Twitter IPO! Yes I am that girl.

My love runs deep!

So you can imagine my excitement to hang out with the Twitter DM team.
Yes the actual team who developed the DM feature on Twitter and launched GROUP DM worldwide with a flip of a switch!They actually were freaking awesome!

Oh now grab a seat it gets tech, very techie, in a moment.

The analytics and strategy of the DM:

The team had to collectively decide if person “A” could create a group chat with person “C” if if person “B” wants to join but blocked “C”! This is not an easy roll out this is weeks and weeks of white whiteboarding, strategy, and execution. Beyond execution they had to educate almost a Billion people on how to use the feature all while receiving instant feedback. I don’t know about you but I certainly dont want millions of instant tweets, beeps, and chirps flooding me at my job about my job!

Here is a short list of challenges they faced:

Who change name a Group chat?
Who can update the name?
How do we keep people safe?
How can we actively listen for blocks?
Who gets to delete the Tweet?
Is it deleted from everyones thread?
At what point of engagement can you view past thread messages?
It is not as simple as it appears folks!

Wow my mind was blown, this team needs a Crunchie! Maybe I will give them one!!

The highlight! I was able to test my new card with the team and they actually got it! Of course they got it! Many people don’t get it but I love it!

Life saving technology helps children and familes

Advancements in science and medical technology have proven to be great gifts to the pro-life movement time and time again. You can not longer deny science and say a young child is not human. Or say someones child is not alive. You should not need technology to determine whether you are human or not but some people are so far brainwashed that they need science to identify a human.

Technology has one again hit a home run! Doctors are able to routinely deliver premature babies at earlier and earlier stages of development. Innovations in sonogram imaging have provided a window to the womb enabling expectant mothers to see their unborn children face to face. We also have the ability to hear the unborn baby’s tiny heartbeat.

These glimpses at the baby’s humanity have inspired countless numbers of mothers to reject abortion and choose life. Many people do not want to kill their families and they regret it. But one doctor is trying to save families centuries of shame and embarrassment. He is putting the humanity back in human.

Now, a new medical advancement is saving lives in a previously unimaginable way. Dr. George Delgado, medical director at the Culture of Life Family Health Care in San Diego, California, has been instrumental in developing a technique to reverse what was the inevitably fatal effect of the RU-486 abortion pill.

Dr. Delgado’s story began when he received a call from a friend in El Paso, Texas, who informed him about a woman who had taken the abortion pill but immediately regretted the decision.

At the 2015 American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists (AAPLOG) conference, Dr. Delgado told attendees, “I started thinking about my years of experience with progesterone, and how I’d used progesterone to try to prevent miscarriage.” The protocol calls for taking the injectable progesterone as soon as possible after taking the mifepristone.

How to Take a Shower

A shower is one of the most relaxing forms of cleansing and rejuvenation on the planet. It clears energy, clears your mind, and allows you to be totally present. It is your alone time, your think tank,or as I like to call it, my non think tank.

You are alone with yourself. It is you, water, and the present moment. Embrace it.

Many inventors and famous entrepreneurs have come up with multimillion dollar ideas while in the shower. I like to call this a Power Shower. Yes I know you have never heard the term before,I get that. But think of it like this, you could be the next Power Shower Entrepreneur! I coined the phrase “Power Shower” to start you in the right direction.

There is an entire study dedicated to the science of why our best ideas come in the shower. Science often tries to catch up and explain realities of life and they are on the right track this time. It is odd for science to explain something that isn’t scientific but I think that they are trying. The experience of the present moment far exceeds our limited scientific explanation. But I’m glad they are attempting to engage and expand your thoughts.

Whether you are Jack Canfield or the guy who sold his million dollar idea to a toy company. You too can have a spark of genius while showering.

Believe in your startup

This is most likely the most valuable #LibertyLesson that I can share with you.
I know it’s hard and can be lonely but trust me if you know you can accomplish something then go for it!

Being an inventor or visionary can be lonely, mainly because people seem to be wired to only believe what they see. When you manifest it and build a product you will be met with a ton of supporters. Think of it as the stock market. Once you have a product and it is out there and doing great people are ready to hand over their fortune and life savings at your IPO, they just want to be involved. But until that point people honestly just may not believe enough in you or your product.

There is always a small demographic of folks who get extremely wealthy on new products. It is because they take risk and believe in a product. That’s it. Many will say it is because they have a disposable income and it’s a ‘rich get richer’ society but I don’t see it that way. To me they have a vision and are not counting pennies. Their vision is very simple. They want their money to work for them. They do not want to work for money. So they take risk many average joes just don’t take.

This point brings me back to you. Take the leap and believe in yourself. The leap is also very simple. You have to believe in yourself when no one else believes in you. If you do not believe in then you who will?

How to Take the first step to increase your confidence and cement an unshakable belief in yourself?

Surround yourself with partners not employees.

Partners vs. Employees

Partners – listen, strategize, contribute, build you up, and most importantly ACT!
Employees – wait for you to take action, wait for you to give them direction, wait for you to give them more direction, and leave all of the heavy lifting to you.

As a result of surrounding yourself with employees you become a manager not a visionary.
Surround yourself with partners and leaders and you become an innovator.

Find your confident partners and believe!

New Tech from Beyonce?

So Beyonce joins a slew of celebrities launching product websites.
Beyoncé has partnered with her trainer Marco Borges to launch a new vegan meal delivery service.
22 Days Nutrition delivers fresh 100% plant-based meals to your door once a week.
Rates for the non-GMO, gluten-free, soy-free, dairy-free and organic range from $9.76 to $16.50 each.
“We all know the importance and value of eating plant-based foods but often times find ourselves trapped in a series of bad habits that sabotage optimum wellness,” says co-founder Borges. “The Vegan Meal Delivery program makes it easier to reset your habits with healthy and delicious plant-based foods.”

Is this new venture #ThatTechGirl Approved?

I have so many mixed feeling about this, but if it saves one animal I am on board. In a nutshell not eating meat, does NOT make you VEGAN. It makes you a person who doesn’t eat meat. What makes you #VEGAN is compassion for all living beings and our planet and environment while doing your BEST to leave the least amount of harm/footprint behind.
Eating a vegan meal, wearing leather shoes, adored with puppies around your shoulders, with a rabbit in your earrings, and a fox on your head, goat and lamb on your jacket, and snake on your foot is hardly a vegan make….just my few #bitcoins.
A step is a step and that is to be applauded because it will introduce a vegan lifestyle to the masses. I must say the founder seems to really lead a vegan lifestyle while his co founder, simply eats less meat. But a start is a start it saves lives. Dogs, cats, cows, pigs, fish, lamb, goats and many more send a nod in your direction

I just hope this more successful than House of Dereon. Lives are on the line!

Job Titles you will only find in Silicon Valley

As #ThatTechGirl, I lead a very techfilled life, yes I said techfilled.
I come across innovation at an alarming rate and the most disruptive sector is not solar power, transportation, energy, pollution, or medicine, it is the job title.
“Job Title Disruption” is as annoying as the word ‘disruption’. Both leave you asking the same question

“So what do you do?”

Are startup founders Democrat or Republican?

How are startup founders democrats?

Seems like startup founders would fundamentally lean towards being republicans.

Founders and republicans support innovation, smaller government, free market, open market, self starting, thinking for yourself, taking risk, making huge aggressive changes, changing the world, taking things into your own hands and changing them, pulling yourself up by the bootstraps, not waiting for the government to save them or offer a solution, starting a company, goal of becoming wealthy for generations to come….

You obviously have the option to be neither (which would be the best option) but out of the two most popular parties it seems they founders and co founders fall on the republican line.

I am not a political person, I cannot be political because I actually like to get things done. Being political interferes with progress.

If I had to pick a side I suppose I am a typical startup guy. I opt to create my job instead of looking for one. I encourage millennials to innovate and create their own opportunity inside of preparing for a gold watch and a pat on the back.

I choose Republican.

The #QR Code

Lets talk #qrcode – The thought behind the QR code is to facilitate faster interaction. I personally have never seen that done. A #qr code is an additional step that is unnecessary. I personally do not like them. But I can recognize them as #gateway #tech. They lead you to real #technology, #sensors! I do not support the hype of the #code. DO YOU use QR codes? Do you have one for your #startup and what’s your experience?! #ThatTechGirl says don’t bother. Real technology will replace this like a #2waypager
