My very first #nutribullet #nutriblast! Its so yummy! It includes #spinach #banana #strawberry #chiaseeds #almondmilk so what I learned… next time ill use ice cold water mixed w the almond milk or instead of the almond milk and I will add more spinach or half it with #kale . Also if you want more smooth pack more into it. I didn’t pack enough so I ended up with a little over half a glass. The 600 Watt on the nutribullet is impressive, I had the #magicbullet years ago and wasn’t happy so I was hesitant to go for this but when my #Vitamix didn’t work out I decided to give this a go and im thrilled I did! Plus clean up is super easy!! Also not this product is NOT a #juicer or #extractor it is a mini #blender. Individual controlled portion blender. Excellent buy! And purchase from #bedbathandbeyond if you can because you get out the door for $87 and a lifetime return policy with no hassle! The @nutribullet is #ThatTechGirl approved! #smoothie #vegan #Vegetarian #bayarea #sf
Silicon Valley Debate – Importio
#ThatTechGirl Top Tweets: Yahoo buys Innovation, Bart Strike, Tesla Motors
#ThatTechGirl Top Tweets! #Tesla reaches goal of over 100k signatures to petition the government to allow them to sale #NikolaTesla inspired cars directly to us. Its sad they even had to do that. Lets you know where your government stands. #bartstrike is getting heated. #california governor is calling #oliviapope to fix it! He is bringing in top 2 mediators to get this done. And #yahoo once again proves why #googleIO is important and why #google is Google! They buy another #startup today. The new yahoo mantra “we don’t hv to #innovate we can just buy companies that do”. So like a bit of #oldschool #SiliconValley between #apple and #microsoft . #stevejobs wanted to innovate and change the world while #billgates want to buy it, repackage it and pass it off as #newtech Follow me on #twitter for links to all the action, plus we can chat over there! #sf #nerd #programmer #science #teslamotors #Teslacoil
#ThatTechGirl’s Bart Strike Survival Guide in Silicon Valley
All of my friends and followers know I absolutely LOVE BART and I am deeply sadden that they couldn’t avoid a strike. I have appeared on air supporting BART riders with the Chairman of the board, I actually have an instagram game where bay area riders can spot me and be featured on my account. This is a sad day for #ThatTechGirl and Bart. I have gathered a few things together and here ya go!
Below you will find a basic survival guide for life in Silicon Valley until they come to their senses.
- FIRST CALL TO ACTION: Follow @SFBART on Twitter and set them to direct message you and alert you with updates.
- Transit officials are urging anyone who can to telecommute, ride a bike, or shift work schedules to of communte
- BART is offering limited free shuttle servicefrom the El Cerrito del Norte, Walnut Creek, Dublin/Pleasanton and Fremont stations to San Francisco’s Transbay Terminal from 5 to 9 a.m., and back from 3 to 7 p.m. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and only about 2,000 to 4,000 people would be able to make it on each day, according to BART’s strike information page
- Take advantage of free parking at any BART station or Park & Ride lot for carpooling purposes. map of casual carpool pickup locations.
TRANSITS
- AC Transit: Bus Service Between East Bay And San Francisco
- Golden Gate Transit:Accessing San Francisco from the East Bay via Marin County. The Golden Gate Bridge District has said that North Bay ferries are already operating at capacity, and that they should not be used as a BART alternative for people traveling from the East Bay to San Francisco and vice versa. Instead, officials urge anyone taking transportation through Marin county to consider bus service due to already heavy traffic on the Golden Gate Bridge. For more information on bus routes, visitthe Golden Gate Transit information page regarding the strike.
- Caltrain and SamTrans: Peninsula Alternatives To BART
- Officials are warning riders to expect delays on Caltrain due to a jump in ridership and say equipment and personnel constraints will likely prevent much in the way of additional service. SamTrans plans to offer temporary shuttle service in several locations around regular BART stops.
- SF Muni: San Francisco bus and light rail service
- The Municipal Transit Agency is referring riders to 511.org for complete information, but has indicated that routes along the BART corridor will be prioritized during a stoppage, including the 14 Mission, 49 Van Ness, J-Church and N-Judah lines. The system will also deploy fare inspectors to help regular BART commuters find their way via Muni.
- San Francisco Bay Ferry: San Francisco Bay Ferries are expected to add additional boats, potentially doubling capacity, servicing Oakland, San Francisco, Alameda, Alameda Harbor Bay and Vallejo. More information is available on the system’s website. The City of Alameda says service will be offered directly from Alameda to San Francisco, without stopping in Oakland. Main Street departures will take place every 45 minuets, while Harbor Bay boats will leave every 30 minutes.
- The Santa Clara Valley Transportation authority has not released a contingency plan on their website
- County Connection & WestCAT: CoCo County Alternatives. Contra Costa bus services have said they will set up temporary bus stations outside the regular BART Stations during the strike. The maps for County Connection will be made available here. WestCat will make their map available here. WestCat’s website also indicates that additional service to San Francisco will be added.
- Capitol Corridor Bus Service: East Bay Train Commuting

Zuck “Likes” Prop 8 in San Francisco
At the top of Friday so many people were asking me “What are you doing this weekend”?! That is how every conversation started after word from Supreme Court on Friday at 4pm
It was like Juneteenth hit San Francisco! (If you are a Texan or Southerner you get it)
Well not quite that exciting but it was CRAZY in The Bay Area all weekend. You couldn’t walk 10 feet without seeing someone in a tutu or a wedding dress or tuxedo. It was just excitement everywhere! I am beginning to think people were marrying random people just to be a part of the festivities!
And there was no way the technology capitol of the world wasn’t going to chime in!
Mark Zuckerberg, of Facebook fame, lead the way to “Like” the decision on Prop 8. Prop 8 allows gays to legally marry in the state of California. He and his team of Facebook investigators printed special shirts for the occasion and joined thousands in the historic pride parade in San Francisco. #ThatTechGirl

June 28: Why I am a Californian. Ode to a Grandmother who saved my life
June 28, 1919
Today is my grandmothers birthday, well my great grandmother. My grandmother died before I came around these parts. The details of her death haunt me to this day.
Today, June 28, I have always remembered because my great grandmother loved to go to Sizzler on her Birthday! She is the reason I am a Californian. She moved from Louisiana to Arkansas (where her parents were slaves/sharecroppers), at the age of 16 or 18 she left her family and moved to California!
Fast forward a few decades and here I am.
That’s the simple version
June 28, 1919.
I recall it like it was yesterday, she was in the kitchen on the phone with her friend planning her trip to Sizzler, and I thought she did this before, and in that moment I looked up at a wall calendar hanging right by the yellow rotary phone, June 28 was circled and it was her Birthday! I was 5. I never forgot it. I never forgot her.
I was not her favorite person in the world. She said I looked too much like my daddy, which was unacceptable to her, but it didn’t matter to me if she liked me first, second, third, or fourth, she was family and I loved her.She literally saved my life.
I was almost killed as youngling and I guess on an energetic level that is why I was drawn closer to her. The woman who literally saved my life. The details of which still haunt me to this day. I never truly understood how courageous she was but I do now. If it were not for my Great Grandmother I would not be able to write this post.
Thank you June 28, 1919
From your eternal friend June 28, 2013

Top 10 Reasons NOT to Commit Suicide
With so much going on about bullying, internet attacks, and suicide at ALL AGES I felt I had to give you a few reason why you should NOT kill yourself (or others)
Reasons NOT to kill yourself
1. It’s just not cool
2. Your suicide note hasn’t been perfected. A note is something people left in EVERY century prior to this one. In the technology enlightenment era, you can no longer leave a “note” because it will live on forever! And in the age of digital footprint, you want to be sure your “note” if more of a manifesto. It could take months even years to clearly outline your thoughts and feelings. It will go viral so be sure its good.
3. Your dog would miss you (if you do not have a dog, get one so he/she could miss you) No one will care for your dog the way you will!
4. Have you cleaned your room?! I say this everyday or every time I feel like I had a close call I say, “I can’t die today my room is not clean”. Do you REALLY want the paramedic team to have to go through your filthy room? Ummmm no! If you put this on your “bucketlist” you will be around for a while!
5.Whomever is the source of your pain or depression will win. You don’t want that
6.Where would you do this? I’m sure you have not thought about the Where? Who will find you? etc….. I’m sure you don’t want your family/friends to find you. And aren’t those the people who would find you,so no! I don’t really recall enemies,ex fiances, ex boyfriends,ex wives, and haters coming to check on you to see if you are alright, it WILL be a friend or family member who will have to discover your body, not cool.
7. Your mother will pass out! – Yes she will pass out! Oh hey she will pass the f*** out! Like fall out! She loved you for 9 months, she loved you before you didn’t get into Yale, after you didn’t get in to grad school, and before you got divorced, after you got evicted, while you were in rehab…all that jazz. It’s true. It was you and her just chillin and hanging out together month after month after month.
8. Life is the the most important thing in LIFE! Nothing else truly matters in life, everything else is just minor details
9. Ask yourself this question…If I won $50 Million Dollars next week would I still want to commit suicide? If your answer is NO, then you are not a great candidate for suicide, your problems can be solved with money. That is literally putting a price on your life. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMxX-QOV9tI You cannot put a price on a life!
10. Do you value Life? Science? Religion? Spirituality? I got you covered … The Short version You would be turning your back on all 4 if you commit suicide
There you go! TOP 10 REASONS NOT TO COMMIT SUICIDE
Notice I do not mention friends and family as a reason not to kill yourself because lets face it they probably got you in this situation.
Okay Okay my #11 is Family and Friends!
11. If you want to commit suicide , think of the other people it will effect. DO NOT be fooled by crazy people telling you its “your choice” . Yes,sure, it is your choice to ruin your family, sure ! 😉 why not? They just don’t finish the sentence. Truth is when you kill a family member it affects EVERYTHING! Even though you say “NO one cares about me, no one will notice if I’m dead, my parents will be better off, my sister hates me, I wish I were dead” Its just a myth. You ARE in effect altering the course of your natural life and it will affect others. So even if you want to kill yourself, don’t because other lives will drastically change. If you can’t stay alive for you, then stay alive for your family.
SO to sum it up do not kill yourself or others, because I care and I love you!
