DeliRadio “Technology changes Radio”

image

TECH: Music is submitted by various bands across the country and is automatically feed through an API to immediately alert listeners of live shows in their geographical location, you can then download and purchase tickets as well as invite friends on social platforms. There is no need to leave the platform in order to interact with the musician of your choice!

TRANSLATION: Unlike Pandora this application keeps track of your location and pushes opportunities for live music interaction between you and your friends. That is the one thing I really dislike about Pandora it constantly forces me to listen to ads from Texas when I am in California. If you have a way to update my location (without creating a new account) please let me know! Honestly it should automatically send me ads based on my location I should not be forced to update it. But it is nice to hear about all of the new advances and renovations in Dallas!
DeliRadio appears to catch on quickly. Listening to music is one thing but being able to go see them in real life is another!
Don’t you just hate when you find out an artist was in your town LAST NIGHT!

Apparent I am not he only one who approves of Wayne Skeen and his vision of music tech!
DeliRadio just closed a 9.35 million round of funding.

“Once musicians submit music, the rest of the process is handled by DeliRadio. Since one’s music is played based on touring appearances, DeliRadio is designed to support your live performances, including play on venue-based radio stations, as a form of marketing with links for more concert info and ticket purchasing.

DeliRadio also offers musicians the opportunity to sell music directly to fans. Artists get 100% of money received for sales. You also have the option to link to iTunes and other outlets for your music.”

FILM HACKING: Hack A Film In A Day

Tim Bull, MixBit’er at AVOS and Cofounder of trunk.ly, is amazing in UnHappy Bunny

Hack A Film In A Day is a digital content creation hackathon. Film and video are no longer left in the hands of traditional filmmakers. Anyone with access to technology is a media maker! HackAFilmInADay.com

Are you tired of watching YouTube and not having your own work featured on YouTube?
Perhaps you have a great idea and just need it to come to life?
Need a video to explain your cause, project, mission, or start up?
ALL ideas are welcome and we will hack them!

WHY: Because hackers hack! We are in the digital space and nothing is more relevant that telling a story in a digital format

WHEN: October 20, 2013 at 9 AM

WHERE: SudoRoom 2141 Broadway Oakland CA USA (Exit 19th Street Bart and walk up 2 blocks) www.Sudoroom.org for directions

WHO: Digital Media Hackers, NON Digital Media Hackers, programmers, founders, co founders, audio engineers, graphic designers, photographers, ALL levels of experience, Actor, Editors, Models, Screenwriters, MUA, Comedians, Dogs, etc ANYONE WITH INTEREST TO HACK A PROJECT!

WHAT TO BRING: Bring your cameras, ideas, editing laptops, audio equipment, extra battery, scripts, whatever, props, ideas, or just bring yourself!

GOAL: You will have a searchable YouTube video for the world

——————————————

Here’s the rough schedule:

• 08:30 – Doors open. Arrive and chat with your fellow movie makers.
• 09:00 – Pitching Session- Pitch a script, an idea, a prop or an unusual skill you possess. After everyone has pitched their idea we form teams.
• 10:00 – BREAK OUT Session- brainstorming / script writing / planning
• 15:00 – If you plan on finishing the editing in one day this is a pretty good time to start. Otherwise you can shoot however long you want and edit it in the days that follow the event.

Tips for success:

• Show up at 8:30 SHARP! People arriving after 9 won’t be let in (it’s locked) until after the pitching is done. This has worked great so far! Thanks for showing up on time. 🙂

• Bring equipment, scripts, props and ideas! It’s always easier to start with something than to brainstorm from nothing (although we can do that too).

• Keep the films short! 1 minute of awesomeness is better than 10 minutes nobody wants to watch!

A few films I had the honor to complete at MAFIAD (Make A Film in a Day)

TECH:
“Technology has changed artist behavior and you must acknowledge it”

TRANSLATION:
Tat Wza is the Super Geek  behind InFlexWeTrust.com, a destination site for HipHop artist. He and his co founder Funk Master Flex ventured out from NYC to attend their first Silicon Valley music tech event! We welcomed them to SFMusicTech with open arms.

Between app launches, API interludes, record breaking downloads, and oh the actual music itself, Tat still finds time to geek out at popular radio station HOT 97.

A nerd so loves music, it doesn’t get any better than that!

His insight on scaling your music into a viable brand while cultivating an active breathable fan base is a talk every artist or music tech startup should hear. Follow him for more insight on how to take your project to the next level.

“Adapt or die” says Tat Wza
